Public Library Visits

Each spring, Lawrence School's 6th graders make a trip to the Brookline Public Library for a behind-the-scenes tour of the reference services offered to young adults. Students 12 years of age and older are considered full-fledged borrowers and are welcome to use a full range of services and resources at the library. The wide variety of books and magazines, the historical newspapers (going back to the Civil War!), the large collection of music CDs and DVDs, the comfy chairs, and the welcoming staff people are impressive, and students definitely anticipate many return visits. Virtually every 6th grader now possesses a blue Minuteman Library Network card! Hooray.
