Summer Reading: For Fun

That's what summer is all about: reading for fun. Not that we don't do it during the school year, but somehow the list of things that must be read is always there. So, the message we really do try to convey to students is to select books they expect to enjoy -- and delve into them at every opportunity. Rule #1: always have a book nearby -- in your backpack, on your bedside table, in the car, at your grandpa's house... Rule #2 is the same :)

All of Brookline's summer reading lists are online at Lawrence Summer Reading. We also remind students that their path needs to take them to public libraries rather than the school library -- or to the wonderful independent bookstores in our communities. We are very lucky to have so many good sources for books!
