Author Loree Griffin Burns visits March 8th!

Thanks to the generosity of the Lawrence School PTO, author Loree Griffin Burns will visit with Lawrence School's 6th, 7th and 8th graders next Friday March 8th. Ms. Burns will be discussing the science behind two of her three books: Tracking Trash: Flotsam, Jetsam, and the Science of Ocean Motion and The Hive Detectives: Chronicle of a Honey Bee Catastrophe. Both books are part of the excellent "Scientists in the Field" series published by Houghton Mifflin.

Her third book also addresses science for kids: Citizen Scientists: Be a Part of Scientific Discovery from Your Own Backyard.

Lawrence School Library owns all three of these titles as does the Brookline Public Library. Ms. Burns' visit may inspire some future scientists and authors! We are looking forward to her visit next week!
