Summer Reading 2013

All of the Lawrence recommended/ required titles are available in our library as well as the public library and at local bookstores.

Required titles are as follows:

Entering 1st grade: Wemberly Worried by Kevin Henkes
Entering 2nd grade: Ling and Ting: Not Exactly the Same by Grace Lin
Entering 3rd grade: CHOOSE ONE of the following:
Ruby Lu, Brave and True by Lenore Look
Anna Hibiscus by Atinuke
Spunky Tells All by Ann Cameron
Entering 4th grade: The World According to Humphrey by Betty G. Birney
Entering 5th grade: The Castle in the Attic by Elizabeth Winthrop
Entering 6th grade: The Breadwinner by Deborah Ellis
Entering 7th grade: The Wednesday Wars by Gary Schmidt
Entering 8th grade: The Schwa Was Here by Neal Shusterman

Students will be engaged in discussion around the required title in the fall.

In addition, students will be given an extensive list (prepared by the district's elementary librarians) of many other titles to enjoy over the summer.
